There is never a right time to let go of the person that you love. The timing never seems right to say goodbye to someone who has meant the world to you. Realistically, the timing is never going to be.
You can’t control when someone is going to walk out and leave. You can’t make them stay and sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you can’t get them back either.
This is one of the most painful things we could experience. Saying goodbye to a person that has meant everything to us. We are losing our best friend, our person, our everything.
It doesn’t seem like anything can make it better. It doesn’t seem like there will ever be a day you’ll be able to get yourself out of bed without crying on the bathroom floor. It doesn’t seem like there will ever be a night that you’ll stop crying yourself to sleep.
The pain of losing the person you love is exhausting. It’s emotionally, mentally and physically draining. No matter what you do, it takes a long time for things to get even a little bit better.
It takes a long time of going through the motions of everyday life, before you start to smile again. It takes a long time before you are able to genuinely feel happiness in the way that this person made you feel. It’s a long process.
There isn’t much anyone could do or say to make it better. The person we want to hear most from isn’t here and there is nothing we can do about it.
What do you do when the one person who comforted you in all of your worst times is the one person who isn’t here now?
What about the fact that they are the person you are hurting this bad over?
It’s the absolute worst. This is where you are forced to rely on others. This is the part where you are forced to open up to people that you normally wouldn’t. this is where you are forced to find the strength within yourself to be your own best friend.
Nobody is going to save you. Nobody is going to be there 24 hours a day with you to pick up the pieces when you are falling apart.
YOU have to do it.
YOU have to be there for yourself.
YOU have to save yourself.
And on the days that moving on feels the hardest, those are the days you find out how strong you really are. It’s on our weakest days, that we find the strength to carry on and keep moving forward.
Today may be hard. Tomorrow may be worst.
But you have to go through this tremendous pain in order to get to the part where you heal.
You have to fight like hell through some of the worst days of your life, to get to the end of this pain.
It may not happen right away, but you will find happiness again.
One day at a time.
