New York City, USA : Cardi B and eight members of her entourage turned themselves in to the New York Police Department (NYPD) today for an altercation that occurred over the summer at a strip club. Cardi B was charged with two misdemeanors: assault and reckless endangerment.
Cardi B allegedly ordered an attack on two bartenders, Jade and Baddie Gi, at Angels Strip Club in Queens NY. The altercation reportedly stems from Cardi believing Jade had slept with her husband, Offset.
According to sources, The Migos were set to perform at the strip club during the night of the altercation. When Cardi came face-to-face with the two women, she allegedly ordered her crew to attack the pair by throwing bottles and chairs. The two women were both hurt but refused medical attention.
A spokesperson for the NYPD said that the 25-year-old rapper (born Belcalis Almanzar) was wanted for the charge in connection with an alleged Aug. 29 incident at Angels Strip Club in Flushing, Queens.
The spokesperson said that police are investigating the “Bodak Yellow” rapper’s involvement in a 3 a.m. incident — which also involved the eight other unnamed individuals who turned themselves in on Monday morning — that involved the nine suspects allegedly throwing chairs and bottles at two bartenders at the club. Cardi, accompanied by her lawyer, turned herself in at 10 a.m. At press time, she was still being processed.
The alleged victims were identified as bartender sisters Jade and Baddie Gi (real names: Rachel and Sarah Wattley), who were working at the club the night of the brawl; Migos performed at Angels on Aug. 29. A spokesperson for Cardi B could not be reached for comment at press time.
Joseph Tacopina, the attorney for the alleged victims in a statement about Cardi B’s charging in the case said
“Cardi B ordered and committed violent assaults against my clients, and is being called to justice for her crimes. Apparently, she thinks her celebrity status puts her above the law, since she has bragged to multiple people and on social media that she orchestrated these vicious attacks. But reality is setting in, as justice does not care whether her name is Cardi B or Carly B, and she will now answer for her crimes.”
Cardi was officially arrested and charged with two misdemeanors — assault and reckless endangerment — according to the NYPD, and had her mugshot and fingerprints taken. She is scheduled for arraignment on Oct. 29.
