Kawit, Cavite, Philippines : The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested Wednesday morning two Nigerian nationals, alleged members of the African drug syndicate (ADS) and seized P6 million worth of shabu ( methamphetamine )in an entrapment operation in Kawit, Cavite.

PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino identified the suspects as Solomon Anochiwa alias Brother, 34, of Saudi Arabia street, Better Living Subdivision, Barangay Don Bosco, Parañaque City; and Desmond Ozoma, 34, of Raya Garden, Bicutan, Parañaque City and Fortanata Village, Parañaque City.

“According to intelligence report, Anochiwa and Ozoma are African drug syndicate members operating in the Philippines and are actively engaged in large scale distribution of shabu in Bicol Region, CALABARZON and National Capital Region (NCR),” Aquino said.

A drug transaction with Anochiwa and his cohort was immediately hatched by PDEA operatives that led to their capture.

“Besides recruiting Filipinos as drug couriers, ADS members like Anochiwa and Ozoma are actively involved in international drug trafficking using our airports and [in] cyber crimes,” Aquino said.

Joint operatives of PDEA Regional Office V Camarines Sur Provincial Office under Director Christian Frivaldo and PDEA Regional Office IV-A CALABARZON under Director Archie Grande conducted the operation around 12:30 a.m, November 8.

Also recovered from the suspects were one mobile phone and a silver Toyota Altis with plate number YAX-234.

The suspects are temporarily under the custody of the PDEA’s regional office in Calabarzon in Camp Vicente Lim, Calamba City, Laguna.
