India – Nigerian Drug Fugitive Captured One Week After Escape

One week after a suspected Nigerian drug trafficker, Identified as John Okoro escaped from the anti-narcotics cell in Mumbai, India; he was re-arrested Sunday while planning to flee the country.

NigeriaCircle.Com recalls that India prison authorities planned to deport the suspect hours before his midnight escape from the cell under the guise of stepping out to use the toilet.

However, online reports have it that the 35-year-old suspect was arrested at Navi Mumbai, while planning to flee to Mangalore in a private bus. The suspect, who until his initial arrest, 2014 in connection with alleged drug trafficking was resident at Koparkhairane in Navi Mumbai, India.

He was however convicted by the court and slammed behind jail for three years at Nashik central prison.
