The India Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested a Nigerian man with cocaine, methamphetamine and ecstasy worth over 544,000 dollars (over 170 Million Naira). Peter Chinedu Okafor a twenty seven year old Nigerian national was arrested from a Goa bound Rajdhani Express train at Vadodara station in Gujarat late last night with various drugs including methamphetamine, 255gm of cocaine and 65 gm of ecstasy tablets. The street value of the drugs, was estimated at about $544000. On interrogation, Chinedu claimed that he was paid $150 to deliver the drugs to someone.
The suspect is currently under investigation and is giving useful information to the narcotics bureau. He had frequented the route and triggered suspicions before his arrest by operatives of the Narcotics Control Bureau.
NCB Zonal Director Hari Om Gandhi said that based on a tip off a Nigerian national Peter Chinedu Okafor (27 years) , traveling by 22414/Hazrat Nizamuddin – Madgaon Rajdhani Express from Delhi was caught at Vadodara Railway station at around 1030 last night by NCB team.
He said that the Nigerian caught from seat number 38 of coach B1 with ticket from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Madgao was involved in smuggling of drugs to Mumbai and Goa and other places. He was frequently traveling between Delhi and these places.
