Miss Imo Anita Ukah Crowned Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria

Yenagua, Bayelsa State, Nigeria : Miss Imo, Anita Ukah, was crowned winner of the 2018 edition of Silverbird‘s Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageant, which was held in Bayelsa State on Friday night. .

37 beautiful contestants vied for the coveted MBGN crown and a chance to represent Nigeria at the Miss World pageant.

Anita Ukah’s victory means that she will also represent Nigeria at the Miss World 2018 pageant scheduled for December 8 in Sanya, China.

The First Runner-up Miss Lagos (Aramide Oluwatobi) will represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant.

Second Runner-up was Miss Edo (Danielle Jatto) who also won the award for (Best Traditional Attire) and will represent Nigeria at the Miss Tourism Beauty Pageant

Third Runner-Up was Miss Sokoto (Valentina Ogbonaya) who will represent Nigeria in Miss ECOWAS Pageant.

Fourth Runner-up was Miss Ogun (Tolulope Mary Ayanfalu)

Fifth Runner-up was Miss Kwara (Damilola Adeshina)

Miss Amity: Betty Harry (Miss Rivers)

Miss Photogenic/Congeniality: Anna Tenna (Miss Benue)

Model of the Year: Obianuju Ononuju (Miss Nasarawa)

Miss Charismatic: Esther Chiamaka Okechukwu (Miss Oyo)

Best Traditional Attire: Danielle Jatto (Miss Edo)

Best Evening Wear: Meyaroghene Ariagbobe (Miss Plateau)

Face of Select Pro: Sandra Chisom Ndigwe (Miss Adamawa)

Rhythm FM OAPs, Ik Osakioduwa and Toke Makinwa were the hosts of the prestigious event which was all shades of glitz, glam, and of course beauty.

Well done to all the ladies who competed in this years 2018 MBGN pageant but most especially a huge congratulations to Miss Imo (Anita Ukah) on taking home the crown as the new MBGN queen.

1. MBGN Winners are the only ones qualified to represent Nigeria at the Miss World contest.
2. MBGN is organized by Silverbird Group.
3. The first Native African to win Miss World is Agbani Darego.
4. Winners of MBGN are expected to work on a pet project (something related to Nigeria)
5. The state to have the most wins in the MBGN Pageant is Imo state
6. Stephanie Okereke-Linus who is an award winning actress and a judge at the just concluded MBGN pageant was also the runner up for MBGN pageant of 2002.
7. Actress, Ibinabo Fiberesima in 1992, competed in the MBGN pageant where she was placed as the second runner-up.
8. Nigerian talk show host, Nike Oshinowo won the MBGN 1991 pageant.
9. The first winner of MBGN was Lynda Chuba.
10. Munachi Gail Teresa Abii Nwankwo popularly known as Muna is a Nigerian rapper, hip-hop artiste was the winner of MBGN 2007.
11. MBGN 2005 winner, Omowunmi Akinnifesi was appointed environmental ambassador in 2009 by Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola.
