The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit announced the apprehension of two suspected Nigerian drug dealers following a tip off by concerned members of the Kempton park community. The pair was found in possession of drugs to the street value of almost R14000.
Officers on Saturday, February 4th, raided the suspects flat on Carl street, where forty six ziplocks of cat were found between mattresses.IMG_20170213_0956002aa
The two 30-year old male Nigerian nationals, who were preparing to go out and sell, were charged with possession and dealing in illicit substance at the Kempton park police station.
They will appear in the Kempton park Magistrate’s Court soon.
In a related development, Nigerians in Rossetenville have been booted out of their hideouts for peddling hard drugs and causing prostitution and health hazards.
Residents say the police in that community was silent and they have therefore taken laws in their hands to eject the criminal gangs.
Questions are being raised as to why the SA police and law enforcement agencies did not take action before the citizens took laws into their hands.
