Nalgonda, India Sept 21: A case of honor killing came to the light on Tuesday at Teededu village of Chintapally mandal in Nalgonda district of Telagana India when the parents of a girl admitted that they have killed their daughter after they saw her talking to a boy from her school.

According to Chintapally SI Nagabhushanam, parents of the victim girl, Radhika (13), who saw the girl with a youngster outside their home on September 15, got into an argument with the girl.

She told them it was merely casual conversation, but her father flew into a rage and attacked her. Agitated over their daughter’s behavior, they killed her the same night.

To cover up the crime, they set the dead body of the girl on fire and succeeded in making others believe in their fabricated story.

Suspecting the parents attitude during the inquiry, police took them into custody and interrogated in their style. During the probe, girl’s parents, Narasimha and Lingamma, admitted to their crime.

A police officer said the man and his wife had confessed to killing the girl “out of anger that her deed would spoil their reputation in the village”, the site reported.

The officer added: “They got nervous after realizing that their daughter was no more and feared that they would be arrested. So, they doused her body with kerosene and burnt it to show it as a suicide.

“They later lodged a complaint with the police that the girl had committed suicide out of depression.”
