Cable News Network (CNN) may have just made a mockery of Nigeria over the continued absence of President Muhammadu Buhari from the country. The television medium mocked the country in the latest edition of its “The Global Public Square (GPS)”, a foreign affairs show anchored by Fareed Zakaria.

The programme in its Quiz and Trivia segment asked, “The head of state from which country has not set foot in his homeland in over two months?”

The options were given as Saudi Arabia, Cuba, Nigeria and Syria.

It went on to tick the option ‘Nigeria’.

Chidi Odinkalu, Former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) posted a screenshot of the question on Twitter.

131 DAYS IN LONDON: Pic Of 7 Governors Buhari Pilgrimage Released

President Muhammadu Buhari was visited by state Governors Forum lead by Abdulaziz Yari in the Abuja House in London on wednesday and pictures of the visit released with the Nigerian goverment still not providing answers on the exact state of the President’s health.
Nigeria President,Muhammadu Buhari was visited by state Governors Forum lead by Abdulaziz Yari in the Abuja House in London.Yesterday, Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, told State House correspondents that a fresh team comprising Governors of Zamfara, Ebonyi, Kano, Borno, Benue, Akwa Ibom and Oyo will leave tuesday night to visit President Buhari in London. Gov. Abdul’aziz Yari of Zamfara will be leading the seven-man delegation of Governors’ Forum on a goodwill visit to President Muhammadu Buhari in London.

President Buhari had on Sunday in London reportedly received a delegation of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) which comprised national leadership of the party and two of its governors—Nasir El-Rufai and Rochas Okorocha according to the presidency. Nigerians have called for at least a video clip of the event as proof it actually took place after the presidency released just a single photo. Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-kayode said the photo released is an old photo from a meeting the president had in Abuja and called on the presidency to stop lying to Nigerians.

According to him, the governors will be meeting the President on Wednesday in London.

“The delegation is being led by the governor of Zamfara, who is the chairman of the Governors’ Forum and in that delegation there will be the governors of Ebonyi, Kano, Borno, Benue, Akwa Ibom and Oyo states. They will leave tonight and make an early morning arrival in the UK,’’.

In his contribution, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina said the selection of members of the delegation was done by the Governors’ Forum. He dismissed the insinuation that Gov. Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti, a renowned critic of President Buhari’s administration, was deliberately excluded from the trip.

“The selection was not done by the government. It was done by the Governors’ Forum and you can see that the delegation is headed by Gov. Yari, who is chairman of that forum. So, that question should then go to the forum,’’

According to Femi Adesina, the president, who is recuperating very fast, preferred receiving delegations rather than addressing the nation through broadcast.

Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has been in London for a combined 135 days for medical treatment and the presidency has continued to release bi-weekly “BUHARI WILL RETURN IN 2 WEEKS” claims through one crony or the other.
