In the video released by militants, one Amina Adam Gomdia, speaking in eloquent Hausa, describes five of the women in their midst as public servants who are also breadwinners in their families.

The second woman who speaks on the video gives her name as Deborah Philipus. She says that right from the minute they were abducted, militants has taken care of them, including treating their injuries, and that they have not lacked food, water or other necessities.

“We are grateful to you,” she says, referring to militants, “but the Government of Nigeria should not say we were not abducted, indeed we were abducted,” she says.

While the Nigerian government earlier confirmed the capture of the police women, there is no way to know if the women in this video are those senior police officers or other militants captives. militants has thousands of female “slaves” in captivity.

militants has confirmed that it abducted several senior Nigerian policewomen during attack on a joint police/military convoy near Maiduguri on June 20 with it’s leader saying the policewomen were abducted to serve as slaves.

Abubakar Shekau, the Islamist terror sect’s leader said this in a new video in a tirade which lasted for about 10 minutes‎. His speech is then followed by scenes of the fierce attack, which took place on the Maiduguri-Damboa road.

The video shows graphic contents of one of the terror victims, as well as images of another set of victims perhaps about to be beheaded.

Shekau mocked the Nigerian government for lying that militants had been defeated. ‎He said

“I want to tell you that we are the one that attacked the convoy, here are the vehicles for all to witness, we are the ones that abducted the female police officers. In fact, they are senior female police officers.

What we did is nothing when compared to our women, children, and friends that have been wiped out or arrested for many years by the Nigerian government. We only abducted them to serve as slaves to us”‎.
