Paul Pogba scored twice as Manchester United climbed into the top four for the first time since the opening day of the season with a 3-0 victory at Fulham.
Fulham’s Luciano Vietto fired wide from close range in the first minute as the hosts started brightly.
But the visitors went ahead on 14 minutes when Pogba linked up with Martial and lashed in a powerful shot from a tight angle, beating Sergio Rico at his near post.
Nine minutes later it was two, when Martial ran from inside his own half and finished beyond Rico.
Pogba’s penalty sealed the win with 25 minutes left after Maxime Le Marchand brought down Juan Mata.
Victory continues Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s unbeaten record as interim manager and puts Man Utd in fourth, one point above Chelsea.
Fulham stay 19th on 17 points.
Solskjaer made six changes to the side that beat Leicester last Sunday; three in defence – Diogo Dalot, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling came in for Ashley Young, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly – and three in attack, with Juan Mata, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku replacing Jesse Lingard, Alexis and Marcus Rashford.
Claudio Ranieri made two changes to the side that faced Crystal Palace with Cyrus Christie and Tom Cairney making way for Luciano Vietto and André Schürrle.
With seconds remaining in the final minute of regular time, Mitrović and de Gea both got booked for a tussle off the ball as the game petered out.
