Victor Moses Injury Blow For Nigeria. Chelsea right wing-back Victor Moses is a big doubt for Nigeria’s upcoming friendlies against Senegal and Burkina Faso at the Hive Stadium in London, England. Moses limped off injured on Monday night as Chelsea beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Emirates FA Cup and a calf strain is the initial diagnosis of his ailment.

If that is confirmed by Chelsea medics when the Super Eagles star is further assessed, he could face up to three weeks on the sidelines. Compared to last few seasons where injuries limited his appearances, Moses has been fortunate in the current campaign and has been available for selection in all the games.

Winger Victor Moses may be out for three weeks if medics confirm an injury that saw him substituted in Chelsea’s FA Cup semifinal clash against Manchester United on Monday night. Chelsea beat United 1-0, and will face Tottenham in the semifinal. Moses limped off in Stamford Bridge and was replaced with Kurt Zouma in the 89th minute. Manager Antonio Conte is waiting to hear how bad the injury is as medics are yet to give details at the time of filing this report.

But if confirmed, Moses could be out for at least three weeks, which means he will miss Nigeria’s two international friendly matches against Senegal and Burkina Faso in London.

The friendly games have been fixed for March 23 and 27 at the Hive Stadium in London, home ground of Barnet Football Club. Moses has played a key role in Chelsea’s title ambition this season. The club is 10 points clear at the top of the English Premier League table.

Wolfsburg teen star Victor Osimhen is definitely out of the friendlies as he is still recovering from injury and has been replaced in the squad by Olanrewaju Kayode of Austria Vienna.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr might have to make do without the services of Victor Osimhen for the upcoming international friendlies with Senegal and Burkina Faso. The former Golden Eaglets sensation was a surprise inclusion in the 25-man squad because he underwent arthroscopic procedure on his right knee on January 25 and has not recovered from that ailment. Osimhen’s meniscus problem is supposed to sideline him for several weeks and logically he is out of the tie because he’s still undergoing rehabilitation and unfit. The ex-ultimate Strikers poster boy was conspicuously missing from Wolfsburg training session on Tuesday evening.

Austria Wien’s forward, Olanrewaju Kayode has been handed his debut call into the Super Eagles team to face Senegal and Burkina Faso in the upcoming friendly matches later in this month.

The former Golden eaglets and flying eagles forward were called up by the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr after Wolfsburg youngster, Victor Oshimen underwent a surgery to solve his niggling injury issue which has stopped him from making his Bundesliga debut.
The 23 years old has scored 15 goals and 6 assist in all competitions for Austrian Wien season.

Kayode reacting after the call up said he was delighted to have finally earned his call up, thanking the super eagle’s handlers for believing in him and promised to give his best in the green white green.

The invited Super Eagles players are expected to arrive in London latest 1300 hours on Monday, March 20.
