UEFA, the Union of European Football Associations, and the governing body of football (soccer) in Europe, announced today that it had banned Marseille defender Patrice Evra Evra from playing club soccer in Europe for the rest of the season. The left-back has also been fined €10,000. Marseille subsequently announced that the club and Evra had mutually agreed to terminate the player’s contract with the team, seeing as it expired after this season anyway.
Last week, Patrice Evra kicked one of his team’s fans in the face before a Europa League match and was suspended indefinitely by his club while they awaiting UEFA’s official punishment.

The former Manchester United star became involved in a heated exchange with the travelling French fans following the warm-up at the Europa League clash.
Patrice Evra was involved in a furious bust-up with his own supporters before Marseilles clash at Vitoria Reporters in Portugal claim that a number of insults were exchanged before the defender decided to retaliate physically.
Patrice Evra was then sent off by the referee before the game even started. He was listed as a substitute, so Marseille are playing with 11. That left the Ligue 1 side with just six substitutes for the game.

As a circulating video footage shows, a number of fans had made their way out of the stand and got pitch-side. Evra was also not the only Marseille player to be involved in the clash
The club are likely to now face a hefty fine by Uefa while Evra is definitely looking at an extended suspension.
Not only will he face an automatic three-match ban for the red card, he will almost definitely be hit further with more games for the kick.
