On Martin Luther King Day, the words of Dr Martin Luther King Jr – “Injustice Anywhere Is A Threat To Justice Everywhere” – resonate, especially in light of Trump’s recent remarks about certain countries. Dr Martin Luther King Jr exemplified courage, truth, justice, compassion, community, forgiveness and dignity.

Born in 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr Martin Luther King Jr. was a Baptist minister, leader of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and social activist, who led the Civil Rights Movement in the United States from the mid-1950s until he was assassinated in April 1968.

Through his activism and inspirational speeches he played a pivotal role in ending the legal segregation of African-American citizens in the United States, as well as the creation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

King received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, among several other honors.

“Don’t allow anybody to make you feel like you are nobody.” – was one of Martin Luther King’s memorable sayings, which we will all need in the age of Donald Trump.

Here are a few more memorable Martin Luther King Jr, MLK, quotes:
